Why the Cross provokes, like nothing else in the history of existence

A wooden cross on a hilltop illuminated by sunlight breaking through dark storm clouds.

#38/40

The Offense of the Cross
Is that it forgives every Offender

if one can believe such a Claim.

POST FROM GETHSEMANE:
"Stay awhile with Me..."
.

Why He asks our company, can come as a rude shock, especially if our Prayers are for self gratification/ promotion.

This Changes every thing, every Prayer. Covid, WhateverWar.. pales next to the Conditions of Sacred Love.

Human transactions reek of Possession+++, Vanity, Judgment, my self first. If not satiated, it will wreak revenge. It will wreck before it leaves. Hell hath no fury like a human discontented.

Look at the Cross. It still Pleads – Asks to not just forgive, but to go Extra miles!

Human loyalties crave beauty, credit, exteriors, the last word, oh let the last bat whack it past the last spark!

The Cross holds on, from the worst place imaginable: the lowest ebb of Selflessness.

“Stay awhile with Me..” He still asks, from Gethsemane.

Excerpt from my Book :

HOLD HANDS WITH STILLNESS

🌿

Carnal love will yell Justice, rights; if not received well, it will smear the other with an emotion I’ve no name for. Like or not, hell can shadow a person forever. Not until we realize the Cross offers to Eternally bear our damage – no penance needed! –

Here’s the terrible surprise:

the Cross loves our Haters as well?!

God loves our Offender, not the offense. He gave up human rights for us each. You don’t wrap your head around that one till you’re met with your worst nightmare in the face of another human who will do their best to crush you.

Then God arrives – with Comfort yes, for everyone.

D’you ever feel God should be only on our side of Everything?

Big surprise. He’s here for everyone. The view from heaven, sees no East, West ,South, North. We’re just a speck. We’re as one Fav Kid: the whole earth.

That’s what boggled my mind as I got the Drafts ready, all sweet and pat,

then Christ stands in there: asking me to not just forgive the person,(Yes, I currently have a Hater) but pray for them. Wow, nice. Amen.

Christ wouldn’t leave. Said He knew how I hurt, but that I must absolutely love this person as I love myself.

I cannot tell you enough how the encounter has impacted me: that He Cares that much for us each, esp tormentors. “They know not what they do…”

ugh. Really, Lord. ( you know He’s speaking when He hits a Not- Humanly – Natural – Assignment! ).

The Challenge He gives us is to love neighbour as our self, if we’re to ever understand the Cross, leave alone live in Its Shade. Big difference between Shadow & Shade.

My 38 pages Free Booklet Hold Hands With Stillness – journeys through Holy Week, (as erggg – real as it gets for me).

The Second Challenge could be the hardest, The Third, you’d get, or not get. The First Chapter is way too personal but I had no way of objecting, so went ahead and hit Publish before the mind said, “No”.

Yes, the Cross is Discourteous to the kind of Self Love that sends another’s soul to hell.

If you get a chance to check it out, would love to know if these 3, Challenged you the way it does me.

Have a terrific week🌿

The Cross really humbles us. It reminds us that Jesus didn’t just forgive us, He calls us to forgive others too, even when it’s hard. That kind of love isn’t natural, it’s from Him. Still learning to live that out. 🙏
