bless the Lord oh my soul
& all that's in me
Praise His Holy name..
Bless the Lord oh my soul
& Forget not His benefits:
Who forgives all your sin
Who heals all your disease
Who redeems your life from the pit
And satisfies your desire
So that your youth is renewed
like the eagle
Bless the Lord oh my soul
And all that's in me
Bless His Holy name..."

Psalm 103

Early in life I heard people whisper this Psalm at sunrise, sunset, christenings, sick beds, dinners, after dinners. I’ve heard it in almost all my Indian languages and in my own spirit.

Every dawn, there’s the yearning to just kneel at my bed before that first cup of jeera (cummin) tea. It changes me, flings wide some windows I may have shut the previous night. It unhinges rusty bolts, and crashes bars of iron. The Psalm reminds me of Who I am, a freed child of God. It reminds me I have infact died, and been raised into new existence in Christ. The old cucoon that caged me in is gone. Those fragile feet gone. The power that raised Jesus from the dead has healed, redeemed this soul from every curse of satan.

Yesterday at the home of a young mother gone to be with the Lord, I heard this Whisper again from within. Watching her two little daughters, it was hard to shut away sorrow.

As the tears arrive, I see how tiny this life is, how fleeting. All that will remain, is us and Him.

Where am I going with this?

Am allowing emotions to bow this spirit to my Maker. May every thing within and without, Bless His Holy Name. Acknowledging His Name, His precious Hand over my life, all life, re -creates me into a Creature made for a strength that’s His. His alone.

Gratitude Abba.
