Miracle of a scar

Scary when they tell you your retina is thinned out in the centre???? These Babes are never wrong. White coats, glossy black sweet bat girl frames, mid 30s? I’m muttering prayer in my teeth.

Predawn sky-nergy

Turns out its just the Macula scar I’ve had: 15 million blind in India, I get a piece of that miracle that eased into my records. Premature macula degeneration, resolved, leaves a translucent scar. Yes I do have vitreous issues, floaters like a Rembrandt storm ship tatter sail, some days it is the poetry of a still-water lake – when am rested,

Random pic yesterday,

in the end it was a gentle day yesterday. Dawn again, 🙂 at sundown Yesterday’s Beauty (pre- sunrise sky) still peeks at my trembling spirit. Isn’t it alright to do a tremble now and then? We are Matter, we are spirit. We are songs in the dust rising, star glow, fists fulla resolve. We are quenchable, die-able…

that sick ability we own, to break, re-group, rise again, though, don’t you detest bad news?!

Am back wirh relief. Kitchen clutter looks glamorous. Dust on coffee table burns gold. Laugh, cry or just sky-gaze in the corners of mind,

at the end of each tumble,

Straw! Feels like Thanksgiving

we humans have brain enough to realize that all this we built over Time, all this, is a mere winding of the wind.

In the end, the beginning and between, we are built to be conquerors. We own complex mechanisms that kick in as soon as we are met with shock, trauma, the cold stare of bad news, ..grim terminal finalities….we are changed in the twinkling of an eye when shook with wars of different kinds, interpersonal, personal…

we are more than we thought, we are in the Presence of more than we know. What took me to the terrace, then climb iron ladder above stair, to where the sky posted Reminders, 5 ish in the am.. more than reminders. It packed in an Energy that knew to fuel another ‘miracle’ of calm. An assurance that’s blessed

yes it matters that in this circus of galaxies, there’s Something more than the pull of gravity. Someone who can fix my retina and then be met at our door by our visually challenged son and remember he too is in the best Care.

  1. Glad to hear all is well. I have a friend, blind all his life, who has a rich and fulfilled life. I could do the same. But I am eternally grateful that I have not had to.
