The modern world’s got me confused,
it seems to now be out of hand,
and my tolerance has been abused
when couched as a demand,
but I will not turn away
from the guiding principle
that it’s through love God has His say,
and compassion is invincible.
We can’t be modern Pharisees,
fighting flame with hotter fire;
we have to work from bended knees
so that our stature may be higher,
so that our example leads,
giving what our nation needs.
