A Heartfelt Thanksgiving.

Reflections by the River

If you call otters wild, then yes, we’ve seen a sweet couple of them recently…

…otters (water puppies) in Nj’s childhood river flowing off Harangi dam.

(WPress prompt: wild animals).

Coorg will always be one of our fav places in the world: the memories here are rich with change, with life.

Top of Mercara Hill is the church we got married at. Tiny white chapel. It was locked now, but painted up. A nice neighbor let us in the front gate; there were no clouds strolling in the aisle this time; they lounged, (watching us maybe).

Gratitude fills, sweeps me up as we make new memories among the old.

Behind chapel, is west villa where I was dressed up as a bride. The white bougainvillea and poinsettia hedges have been replaced by masses of grass and wind blown autumn crocus.

That’s five of us now, locked together by Grace;

…beyond description are the Hands of God, leading us via mountain routes and steep bends. Life. Gentle or tough winds, mist. Scent of river grass.

Later at the river, we get pebbles for a table bowl.

The drive back home, 8 hours away – also finds us a wee teashop under low November clouds:

elaichi and clove – salt biscuits baked with jeera. The air is clear, pollution free. A man in turban and dhoti grins back;

I forget to stop for cane basket, (but there’s the complimentary one from Palmer Lodges).

Thanksgiving is chilly, back in our city, but the heart is lifted in Gratitude for miracles: seen, and unseen. Today and forever my soul sings out to You my Abba, precious Father Friend. Thank You for Your brand of Love that washes over and over, like fresh water springs – tiding away the bad, with new energy.

Knowing You is meeting a River of Light. Being Loved by You, is living at a Fountain of Life that keeps no record of ills. Your Presence a Rock to depend on, 24x7x n. What a miracle that is. Just being with You. Not even expecting answered prayers, but just being with You – in season and out, no Santa – gifts wrapped in paper- being with You where Life is – shallows and all: walking with You up slope trails, all of this, is exciting, new every morning.

How I love You my Father in Heaven and on Earth: You here in the everyday. Its a good day to give thanks, yes – for precious family/ extended family, friends, new faces, neighborhoods, flora & fauna, rivers, hills, valleys, city silhouettes, noise, clutter, dusk, dawn, the Light seeping thru edges, hinges:

thank You for being my/ our Fountain of Light, our Life Source. ThankYou for the Cross, nailing all our bad if we believe that. Thank You for being the Friend of Friends, King of Kings. I’m out of Words. Just Thank You my Father, for everything. And especially for Christ, for the Spirit of the Living God, bringing to life, the death in me;

Deep sigh. Was this a Post? More a Letter of Gratitude to You Who writes my existence in the lines of Your Palm. Hallelelu- jah.

for calling out the accuser: that snake in the grass, for Standing Tall among us, Humanity, offering the Gift of Life, over and over, as if I were the best, a favorite child. Thank You, that no matter what the Tide, or Time, Your Brand of Love, wakes me / us, new every morning. Great is Your Faithfulness, oh Lord my God. Yes its a good day to remember, celebrate every blessing🍃🌷🍃

Happy Thanksgiving !

    “Thank you, Rayla, for the beautiful encouragement especially the gentle reminder that it’s never about Santa, it’s always Jesus.

    Your words re-center the heart and lift the spirit back to where it truly belongs.

    Your words carry the kind of light that doesn’t just comfort, they realign. They nudge the heart toward what is true, reminding us that every gift has always flowed from the Giver Himself.

    You helped put into words what the soul already knows, that gratitude is not seasonal, and Jesus isn’t a visitor.
    He’s the daily Presence, the constant Companion, the Love that walks with us through mist, rivergrass, mountain turns, and city clutter.

    Thank you for delighting my heart.

    Love to all.

    Shawn Solomon & family.
