#23
prayer-a-day
“What can I offer, what can I bring You?” I ask the King of Kings. He is wrapt in swaddling garments of Mercy, cradling me in Compassion
All around is an earth, the bray, the snort, the moan of tethered feathers.

Here I am, in an earth out of which comes bread, but under its crust there is a mine, a blasting, turning it up as by fire. Underneath, in its bed of sapphires, we earthlings know – Wisdom cannot be gotten for gold. (Job, 28) but when I offer my Worship undiluted, when the awe of You trembles my bones,
then, there is a precious Wisdom, a Knowing, a Knowledge of Rest. True pure and precious. A Knowledge of You. My Holy One. Here, I offer my trust. Here i let go, and let You in…
Here I rest these acres of me, in the Presence of You, my God. This day, this moment, I offer this to You my King:
– that I rest, I abide, I dwell, live, breathe deeply in You, in Christ-
